DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS


The Department of Physics was established on 2008-09 as an integrated subject in B.Sc.(M.P.C.). The Department was initially headed by Sri. L. Siva who is a contract faculty followed by a regular lecturer Sri.T.Tejeswara Rao till July 2021. From 19.07.2021,
Sri.T.Tejeswara Rao is acting as the in-charge of the Department of Physics.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

• To enrich the knowledge of the students in the subject and encouraging them by involving them in Seminars, elocution, Quiz competitions, Group Discussions, Student Projects, solving mathematical and logical puzzles, improving computer awareness, facilitating them with open access e-resources etc.

SOME OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS

• The Department of Physics is organizing Industrial and Study tours to enhance the communication and awareness skills among the students.
• The Department invariably encouraging the students to develop logical and analytical skills by providing them Puzzles, Quiz’s, Brain Teasers etc.

THE CURRICULUM

The syllabus was revised in the year 1993 and a Common Core Syllabus is introduced through-out the State of Andhra Pradesh. Recently the syllabus is further revised from 2020 and the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam consistently reviews the syllabus and issue necessary guidelines to all the affiliated colleges from time to time. The Department offers one elective subject in the final year degree course.

THE EVALUATION

The Department Conducts two midterm examinations, to assess the performance of the students. Marks obtained by the students are entered in the Departmental Marks Register.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS AND STUDY TOURS

The Department organizes Industrial and Study tours to enable the students about the various opportunities and also to develop the enthusiasm about the technical advantages of nearby industries.

OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES OF B.SC (MPC) PROGRAMME
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES :

1. The curriculum has been designed to provide knowledge on basics mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
2. The curriculum will provide overall development of the student like it provides Environmental conscious, leadership qualities for entrepreneurship, Human values and professional ethics, communication skills and ICT.

Course Outcomes :

Students graduating with B.SC (M.P.C) should be able to
3. Students will demonstrate physics in their own way with help of mathematical methods of physics like vector analysis, Fourier series and complex analysis.

5. By conducting semester end examinations in practical and theory.

OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES OF COURSE
Course Objectives :

The following are the objectives of B.Sc (Physics) course
1. The curriculum has been designed to provide knowledge on Mechanics, waves and oscillations, Wave optics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electricity, Magnetism and Electronics, Modern physics are main topics in B.Sc physics course. The elective in sixth semester is Renewable energy
2. The course curriculum provides theoretical skills and practical knowledge on above topics.
