DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
The Department of English was established on 2008-09 as an integrated subject in B.A & B.Sc. The Department was initially headed by Sri.K.Nagaraju who is a contract faculty followed by a contract lecturer Sri B.Tranadha till August 2024. From 15.07.2024, Sri B.Tranadha is acting as the in-charge of the Department of English.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT
• To enrich the knowledge of the students in the subject and encouraging them by involving them in Seminars, elocution, Quiz competitions, Group Discussions, Student Projects, Essay Writing.
• The Department is encouraging the students by providing guidance to appear for various competitive examinations and common entrance tests for P.G. courses.
SOME OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS
• The Department of English is organizing Industrial and Study tours to enhance the communication and awareness skills among the students.
• The Department invariably encouraging the students to develop communication skills by providing them JKC Lab & English daily NEWS Papers… etc.
THE CURRICULUM
The syllabus was revised in every five years and a Common Core Syllabus is introduced through-out the State of Andhra Pradesh. Recently the syllabus is further revised from 2020 and the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam consistently reviews the syllabus and issue necessary guidelines to all the affiliated colleges from time to time. The Department offers one elective subject in the final year degree course.
THE EVALUATION
The Department Conducts two midterm examinations, to assess the performance of the students. Marks obtained by the students are entered in the Departmental Marks Register.
OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES OF COURSE
Course Objectives :
The following are the objectives of English course
1. The curriculum has been designed to provide knowledge on A Course in Communication and Soft Skills, A Course in Reading & Writing Skills, A Course in Conversational Skills
2. The course curriculum provides use grammar effectively in writing and speaking, acquire ability to use Soft Skills in professional and daily life, use reading skills effectively, improve writing skills independently for future needs, speak fluently in English, Participate confidently in any social interaction on above topics.
Assessment of Outcomes :
3. By conducting mid examinations in summative and formative methods.
4. By conducting semester end examinations in practical and theory.
