DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
The Department of Economics was established on 2008-09 as an integrated subject in B.A.(H.E.P.). The Department was initially headed by Sri. Ch. Ramurthy who is a regular faculty followed by a regular lecturer Sri K.Sampada Rao till October 2021. From 04.10.2021,
Sri K.Sampada Rao is acting as the in-charge of the Department of Economics .

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT
• To enrich the knowledge of the students in the subject and encouraging them by involving them in Seminars, elocution, Quiz competitions, Group Discussions, Student Projects,
• The Department is encouraging the students by providing guidance to appear for various competitive examinations and common entrance tests for P.G. courses.
• Some of our Ex-students from our department were qualified in AUCET, Ed. CET, DIETCET,
• Group Study projects on the trends in the demand, supply and prices of goods andservicesin thelocal markets
• Encouragement to students to use various digital online tools (Google forms, GoogleClassroom,edmodo, testmoz,kahoot,edpuzzle,moodleetc.,),Opensourcesoftware,Openeducationalresources
SOME OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS
• The Department of Economics is organizing Industrial and Study tours to enhance the communication and awareness skills among the students.
• The Department invariably encouraging the students to develop logical and analytical skills by providing them Puzzles, Quiz’s, Brain Teasers etc.
• The Department regularly conducting Students Seminars, Project Works, Assignments etc.
THE CURRICULUM
The syllabus was revised in the year 1993 and a Common Core Syllabus is introduced through-out the State of Andhra Pradesh. Recently the syllabus is further revised from 2020 and the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam consistently reviews the syllabus and issue necessary guidelines to all the affiliated colleges from time to time. The Department offers one elective subject in the final year degree course.
THE EVALUATION
The Department Conducts two midterm examinations, to assess the performance of the students. Marks obtained by the students are entered in the Departmental Marks Register.
INDUSTRIAL VISITS AND STUDY TOURS
The Department organizes Industrial and Study tours to enable the students about the various opportunities and also to develop the enthusiasm about the technical advantages of nearby industries.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:
1. The curriculum has been designed to provide knowledge on basics History, political science, and Economics.
2. The curriculum will provide overall development of the student like it provides Environmental conscious, leadership qualities for entrepreneurship, Human values and professional ethics, communication skills and ICT.

The course curriculum provides theoretical skills and knowledge on above topics.
